The ever-changing narrative and lack of fairness
The law states you have the right to know the case against you and to be informed. Our experience with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) showed this was never afforded to us. This section outlines the procedural unfairness that led to years of hardship.

Shifting explanations and missing records
One of the most frustrating aspects of dealing with the CRA was the constant shifting of explanations and the inexplicable disappearance of vital records. We faced changing narratives, missing appeals, and disappearing objections, making it impossible to address the claims against us effectively.

Ignored evidence and unequal burden
Despite providing extensive evidence, it was often ignored or rejected. The burden of proof was unfairly shifted onto us, leaving us with no clear answers and encountering institutional amnesia from the CRA. Our credible accounts were repeatedly doubted, and we were made to appear dishonest.

Devastating consequences of procedural flaws
The lack of procedural fairness led to severe real-world consequences. Benefits were stopped without justification, unfair debt was imposed, and aggressive collections worsened our harm. This destroyed our credit, contributed to homelessness, and compounded the trauma for myself and my children.
"After nearly six years of being blamed and shamed, I want people to see beyond the CRA's narrative. This institution prioritizes self-protection over integrity and fairness, with devastating human costs."
